TBT - all the S' kitties

Hi efurrybody!  The mom bean has been going through stuff in the house and she found a whole bunch of pictures of us kitties.  So what did she do, she took pictures of some of these pictures!  She's such a silly bean because then she cleaned up an old computer and found digital copies.  MOL!

She was surprised to find this one, with the  six S's in one photo! From left to right, top to bottom, there is Shady on top of the cat tree, Sasha on the arm of the couch, Silver on the back of the couch, Saku on the floor below the cat tree, Silas on the coffee table, and Sami on the couch.  It was very rare to have efurryone together.

These are the original S' kitties, Silver, Sasha and Sami.  Sasha is our oldest kitty, and came to live with us in 2000.  Silver came next: she loved Sasha, then Sami came, and she loved Sasha, so that meant Silver and Sami didn't like each other at all.  

This is our sisfur Shady.  Mom bean is sad because she doesn't have any really good photos of Shady.  She was the quietest of the S' kitties.  She only called out when she was carrying a toy.  (Reminds us of our furriend Katie Isabella!)

Here's our brofur Silas.  He was the biggest kitty and the biggest mom suck of us all.  (Though Saku is getting close - mom).  

He is Shady's twin and Sami thought she was their mom (she wasn't really but she sure took good care of the kittens).

Mom bean thinks this photo was taken after Silver passed in April 2008; she calls it "Feeding time at the Zoo".  That's mean to saybut we were all well fed.  One time after mom bean had been on a trip (and we had a cat sitter), the Humane Society worker came by to check in.  She took one look at Silas (22 lbs. at the time) and said, "well, they are certainly not starving".)

Finally, here is Saku when he was a little kitty with Sami.  She didn't act like his mom very much.  Shady and Silas played with him the most, but at first Silas was afraid of him!  Later they had lots of fun tussling and playing in the tunnel.  

Silver, Sami, Shady, and Silas are now our angel kitties.  Mom bean misses them all the time, and sends them her love today.   We'll be sure to make time for some cuddles and lap time to let her know we love her right back.

Pee Ess:  Sheldon lived with us for awhile too, but he now lives with his own mom bean, bean brofur, and fursib Stanley.  Mom bean says that's a good thing!

Purrs Please

Any and all purrs and pawsitive thoughts would be appreciated today.

Mom bean here.  Sami hasn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks.  I found a couple of her teeth in my bed one morning and since then she starting eating less.  The last few days have been troubling as her appetite has decreased further, her right eye waters, she's frequently sneezing and one side of her mouth appears to be swollen.

Today, she's hasn't eaten at all and until a couple of minutes ago, hadn't had anything to drink.  She's been sleeping most of the morning.  

We have an appointment at the vet in about an hour.  I'm praying that whatever is going on, can be readily fixed but am mentally preparing myself for the worst. 

She's on my lap at the moment, as if she knows she's the focus of this post.  I'll be giving her lots of love before we head out in the car.  I'll post an update later today or tomorrow.

Update:
Unfortunately my worst fears were realized.  Upon examination, the vet found a large invasive tumour that nearly filled Sami's mouth cavity.  We discussed potential surgeries and palliative care (which would have required pilling), but ultimately I decided I could not put Sami through more suffering and pain.  

With a heavy heart, and many tears I said good-bye to my sweet girl.  She went quietly and peacefully; I truly believe she knew it was her time.  Sami has joined her fursibs Silver, Shady, and Silas at the Rainbow Bridge.  I am grateful that she is no longer in pain, and I know the pain I feel today will be tempered in time.

Sami, you are and always will be part of my heart.

Hi efurrybody, Sami here today!

It's my 15th birthday today.  Or pretty darn close to it.  The mom bean counted backwards from when I was 'dopted.  She's says I'm pretty lucky, cuz I share my birthday with Canada.  I'm okay with that as long as I get all the nip. 

Did you know I almost didn't get 'dopted by the mom bean?  When she went to the shelter, she was looking for an older kitty but her bean kids convinced her to go into the kitten room.  There I was, hopping up and down, climbing the bars of the cage and yelling "Pick me, pick me!!!"  AND she did. 

I'm a little kitty, more round than long though mom bean says I have lost a pound or so in the last year. My favorite bean is mom, but my bean brofur comes a close second.  They call me the Walmart greeter because everyone who comes to the house gets to meet me.  I haven't met a bean I didn't like.  Now Saku is another matter.

Same goes for laundry baskets.  I lub me a fresh load of laundry right out of the dryer.  

Mom bean appawciates my efforts too.  She'll be all "Oh Sami, you've done it again.  You've furred up my black pants."  Glad to do it for you mom. 

Today, we has sun with some clouds coming.  It's a nice day so I'm going to hang out with my favorite brofur, Sasha.

Some of our favorite boxes - for International Box Day!

Who knew?  We sure didn't but the Trout Talkin' tabbies did.  Mom bean was reading their post and told us about it.  

So then, of course, we told the mom bean we wanted to pawticipate.  It took some convincing since she's been incredibly lazy lately!  

But I (Saku) sat on her on Caturday and helped her go through some pictures on her 'puter.  Just look what we found!!!

This is from July 2010 when we moved into our house.  Sami was helping to hold down the boxes until the mom bean got them unpacked.

Here is Sasha in a box from March 2013.  Sasha doesn't often sit in boxes so this is a rare thing.

Obviously the mom bean was excited about getting the picture 'cuz she cut Sasha's ears off.

Here I am in the same box in July 2013.  I really, really liked that box!

Mom bean had it in front of the window on a little table.  This was before the cat tree so it was a purrfect place to watch cat television.

Sheesh mom bean, did you really have to share this one?  It's not a box...well, tecknically it is a litter box.  Kitties, please disregard the mom bean's attempt a humor.  Since I have no thumbs I am unable to remove it.

Sami loves boxes too. In fact she had two boxes  to hang out in, back in February 2015.

The bottom box was a great box, cuz it held lots of toys.  But mom bean says it was too big to keep in the noisy box room.  Sigh...no appawciation.

Mom bean says this is what happens when a kitty gets too big for his box. 

Can you believe she threw this box away?  It was just purrfect in July 2015.

Christmas 2016 was a great time for boxes under the tree.  The sticky bean wasn't even born yet but he had lots of presents under the tree.

I kept them safe (and furred up) for him.

Finally, here we are in February 2017.  The sisfur brought home this cool box.  I was the only one to really check it out, but it sure made Sami and Sasha take notice too.  

I am sad to say that all of the boxes here have gone to...wherever it is that boxes go when the mom bean takes them away.  But not to worry, there are still boxes for us to enjoy in our home.  At least for Sami and me.

Snoopervising Caturday

Hi efurrybody, Saku here today.   

The mom bean kept herself busy today.  First she mowed the lawn.

I can confirm that she did a pretty good job.  Though it could use a good raking.

While I was busy checking out her work, something caught my attenshun.

It was these burds!  I would have liked to try to catch one (or three) but mom bean wouldn't let me climb the tree.*

I got a little excited then so mom bean said I had to go inside.


Hi efurrybody, Sami here.  I got to go outside too, after that pesky brofur!

I ventured into the shed to see how it looked.  I told the mom bean it could use a good tidy!

She did move some stuff out of it an into the yard later.




Then I checked out the downspout to see if it might leak.  Nope, looks good Mom.

(She thought I was trying to find a new way into the sunny room.  Silly bean!)

Phew, there sure are a lot of things to check out here in the backyard.  Good thing mom bean has us kitties to help.

After doing lots of yard work, mom bean went shopping.  She got some things for the yard and this new rug for the sunny room.Saku gives it 4 paws up!

*Yes, this old fir tree is dead.  Mom bean left it for the birds and bugs, but now the neighbour took down their tree it looks awful so she thinks she'll have it taken down.

Not feeling it

Hi efurrybody!  We're all here today with some bad photos the mom bean took of us....and silly bean she kept them on her 'puter so we're sharing, MOL.

She tries furry hard to get us to look at the flashy box when she's taking our pictures.  We don't always cooperate.

Sometimes she calls to us, and sometimes she tries to get our attention by touching us.

Lately we've been getting a break from the flashy box...the little furless sticky bean seems to be taking the brunt of her ineptitude.  Works for us. :p

Wordless Wednesday

Surprise!

Hi efurrybody!  We're all here today checking out this new box.

Our mom bean says, in just a few days or maybe a week, a little sticky bean will be coming to live with us.  The bean sisfur was putting together this swingy chair thingy for it ...she gave us the box to play with.  It was good fun until the mom bean took it away.*

Do you suppose the little sticky bean will come in a box too?  Now that would be a great surprise.

It's Caturday so the mom bean is running around doing chores.

I'm doing my part too!
This laundry might run off if I don't sit on it. 

Plus it needs a little more furring.  Time for a nap!

Snowy Sunday

Hi efurrybody, it's Sami here today.

Those brofurs of mine tend to hog the blog so I made sure to look extra cute (and awake) so I could be today's poet...'er poster.




We is having lots of snow today.  Mom bean isn't happy - she says it was supposed to miss us.  


Not much to watch on cat television today, no birdies or bunnies, just lots of snow flakes.



It's a purrfect day to curl up for a long winter's nap.  I gotta go find the brofur Sasha of mine.  Have a good Sunday efurrybody!

Cuddle up Caturday

Hi efurrybody, it's Sasha here today.

Can you tell where I am?  Actually, where I was...'cuz this was taken yesterday.

Yep, I was out in the sunny room.  Mom bean said with sun shine the room had warmed up enough for us kitties me to be out there.

Of course, my solitude did not last long!  That's okay 'cuz there was enough sun puddle to share.

Okay, mom that's enough tippy tapping...let's go see if the sunny room is ready for me today.

Cool and cloudy Caturday

Hi efurrybody, it's Sami here today.

There's nothing on cat television today.  It's cloudy and cool and just a little foggy too.

Sasha asked mom bean if we could go out to the sunny room, but she pointed out it is not sunny and quite cold out there.

It's a purrfect day to curl up with my favorite brofur and take a long winter nap.

Cat trap Caturday

Hi efurrybody, Sami and Saku here today.

Mom bean used some green papers to get herself some new boots so we got a new box!

Sami has had her box for a whole year and she lubs it so much the mom bean put a towel in it.

I don't have a towel....yet....hey mom, get on that will ya?

By the way, does anyone know why the mom bean calls our boxes her cat traps?  Sometimes beans a pretty hard to understand!

Deja vu

Hi everyone, today it's mom here. All the cats are having their evening nap before bedtime.

Here's Sasha and Sami - does this look familiar to anyone?

Sasha likes to snuggle in with me while I watch the news (or some other television program).  The moment I get up, Sami takes my spot.


Saku is sharing the couch with me this evening.  He's stretched out since this photo was taken so I'm perched on the far end.

Since cats rule....life is as it should be :)
