Hanging with the mom bean

The mom bean is here for a few days and spending lots of time hanging out with me. 

We went upstairs for a little bit, and I got to see my woofie sisfur and I drank out of her water bowl, MOL! My bean brofur says I still hiss, but I didn't this time, and the woofie was curious but didn't come near me. Sage is being crate trained - can you imagine, being put in a box. That's not for me!

I'm doing pretty darned good, the bean brofur spends time with me efurry day, and one of his friends comes over to visit ME at least once a week, sometimes more. She has four kitties of her own but she doesn't bring any of them here. Thank Cod!

Happy New Year efurry body!

She's back!

The mom bean came back a couple of days ago, and I have been spending as much time as I can with her. She especially appawciates when I wake her up in the middle of the night (several times) to remind her I'm happy to see her. 

I've been doing my part, too, to make sure she doesn't sleep in. The bean brofur leaves for work at about 6:15 a.m. so I expect to be fed at that time. Today, it was 5:34....I'm a cat and I can't read a clock.

She's been spending time with two other kitties, Stanley and Spencer. I'm sure I'd hate them. She says they are nice kitties but neither of them are lap cats like me. We've had a talk and I told her she can share their stories too. 

Meanwhile things are good with me - I'm eating well, and the output is what it is. The beans have to clean it up, MOL!

Sharing the mom bean

 Hi efurrybody, Saku here. Sorry, I haven't been here for a long time. The mom bean has been away from me, but I'm okay 'cuz I'm living with my bean brofur. He's furry good to me, he keeps my water and kibble dishes full, feeds me the yummy wet food twice a day, and cleans my litter boxes. We have our routine too before he goes to work, with some scritches and he turns on the radio for me so I have company too while he's away. There's more scritches and pats and some toy time when he gets home. AND of course, dinner!

Mom bean got back from staying with my kitty cuzzins and the sticky bean just over a week ago. She was planning to stay with me until the end of June, but has to go back there for a few days later this week. She promises to come back again she gets some important stuff done. 

I've been enjoying lots of lap time. When she's doing stuff, I help. Here I am keeping an eye on her - she had just finished putting away her clean laundry. 

I also make sure she wakes up every morning.  Usually between 5 and 6 a.m. She's got lots to do here so she needs to be up early. Plus I want my breakfast. 

When she isn't here she is hanging out with Stanley and Spencer. This is Stanley...he likes her bed.

She says he doesn't sleep with her either. His place is with the sticky bean.

This is cuzzin Spencer. She has slept on the mom bean's bed once, and hides under it sometimes.

I kind of miss the old girl when she is away, but I know she's in good paws with Stanley and Spencer. Except she says they don't wake her up in the morning! I don't have to worry though, the bean sisfur wakes her up most mornings.

For those who aren't aware, I am splitting my time between the home of my son, and that of my daughter and grandson. I do miss Saku when I'm with Stanley and Spencer. They are great cats, but not lap cats as he is. However, due to his temperament I cannot take him with me - he and Stanley would not tolerate one another and I'm not sure how Spencer would react to a strange cat. He and my son enjoy each other's company. C spoils him, perhaps not as much as I do, but I know that Saku is healthy and well taken care of when I am not in the city.  

It's been awhile

 I told mom bean that it's about time she posted another picture of me.  She says this is my best side.

This is my bedside touch lamp - it is a tri-light. Saku has learned to turn it on by patting it with his paw, and continues to touch it until it is at it's brightest level.

Some nights he turns it on at 3 a.m., sometimes at 4 a.m., and occasionally at 5 a.m. Never at 6 a.m. when I would be quite happy to be awake.

If that doesn't wake me up, he starts knocking the books off the night stand, soon to be followed by the lamp itself.

Photogenic

 Hi efurrybody, Saku here. The mom bean has been furry derelickt in her duties here, but she has been taking some photos.

Here I is, in all my glorious self. I'm probably waiting patiently for my next meal. 

And here I am tucked away, in the sunny room. Yep, it got warm enough (for Saku) out there one day so the mom bean opened the door for me.

To show I'm not the least bit jealous, here's photo of Spencer from the mom bean's last visit.

Mom bean says Spencer was pretty skittish at first, but by the end of her visit, the little girl even came to her for pets! No cuddles yet, but maybe next time.

Christmouse past and napping present

 Hi everybuddy! 

Hope you all had a good Christmouse. It was pretty good here, even with a visit from the sticky bean. He's not quite as sticky as he used to be and I even had a nap on the couch while he was sitting on the other end. Mom bean says that's darn near a miracle.

I got a brand new lamb nip toy and a wand toy with a squeaky mouse and feathers too. The little bean liked playing with the wand toy and I chased the mouse. Once I grabbed the mouse in my mouth and took off with it with the little bean holding the wand. Mom bean said it was furry funny but she didn't get a photo.

She did get this photo of me though. The last few nights I've decided I want to sleep under the covers with her. I only get to stay there if I don't scratch her...it usually doesn't last long. But one night I actually fell asleep!

Same old, same old

 It's cool here today, and I told the mom bean I'm going to hang out with my blanket and relax today.

In other words, nothing different from any other day, MOL!

She asks why?

 

I have a perfectly good water fountain. I've even been known to use it from time to time.

*Sasha always used it, and Saku would always chose to have a drink at the same time. - mom

Don't tell her, but I prefer fresh water from the tap. 

*Saku has even developed a new meurp sound that lets me know when he's thirsty. Of course, I respond. :p - mom

Happy New Year!

 Mom bean says it is a new year - I don't know exactly what that means but I do know a bunch of the decorations and the tree were put away today. Maybe it means she's going to clean the house? 

There are no new photos of me today. Instead mom bean found one from years ago when I was just a young'un. She says I was almost five years old when this was taken, now I'm almost 14.  I haven't changed much.

Can you tell I was helping make the bed? MOL! 

Katie, can you see I had a mousie too?  It's still alive and kicking downstairs.

Adjusting

 Hi effurybody!

It's getting furry cold here so there is no sunny room time for me. Good thing the couch is pretty darn comfortable too.  

The mom bean isn't sure how this is comfortable.  Little does she know.  

She says there have been some changes in my behaviour since Sasha went to the Bridge. I used to wait for him to wake mom in the morning, now I do that all by myself. I've taken to tapping her on the head with my paw...with a teeny tiny bit of my claws out to make sure she pays attenshun. When that doesn't work, I knock stuff off her bedside table - books, glasses, cellphone, water bottle - it all goes flying. That works effury time!

I've been playing lots too and getting the zoomies sometimes. Mom bean has been finding toys all over the place. I won't tell her why I'm doing that now and didn't do it much before. 

I miss Sasha sometimes and I refuse to sit on his spot on the couch. I even get mad at the mom bean when she sits there. But I sure lub being the only kitty cuz I get all the pets and scritches. And treats too!

Hi efurrbody, Saku here.

Mom bean and I want to say thank you to efurryone who has stopped by the blog with condolences on Sasha's run to the Bridge.  

She sure has the sads, but I've been doing my best to give her lots of luvs and snuggles.  Yesterday I got her to play with my string toy and I think she really liked that.  

This morning I made her laugh too.  She says she wishes she was as flexible as me.  Guess we'll have to work out with the string toy some more. MOL!

I wants what I wants

 Hi efurrybody, Saku here today.

Efurry morning, the mom bean leaves the tap dripping in her bathroom for a little while so I can get a drink*. But this morning I wanted a drink from the tap in the kitchen.  She dared to say that I had to wait until she put away the clean dishes!

Doesn't she know I wants what I wants, when I wants it?  Good thing, I'm such a patient kitty.  MOL!

We're still here

 Hi efurrybody, Saku and Sasha here today.  Yep, we're still here.  Mom bean says we don't do a heck of a lot so there isn't much to share.  BUT she's wrong, we do a lot...a lot of sleeping, eating, and a whole lot of p**ping.  She should know about the last 'cuz she has to clean it up. MOL!

We're still hanging out in the sunny room.  Most of the time, Saku naps in the tunnel but one day he was napping in the bed and mom thought his foot dangle was cute.

Saku: I heard the click of the flashy box.  How dare she wake me. By the way, Sasha is sleeping in the orange bed beside me.

Here's proof she feeds us too.  Sasha gets his dinner on the couch so mom bean can keep an eye on him.  He doesn't always eat everything at once and Saku has a bad habit of trying to steal the rest.  

Sasha: So mom bean takes it away and covers it up and serves it to me later in the evening.  I have her well trained!

We won't share you any proof of the third thing we do so well.  Mom bean cleaned up the boxes just this morning and she'd tell you it was a smelly task.  She says she might have to reconsider which flavor of Fancy Feast she feeds us.  

Thanks to the Tabbies of Trout Town for reminding the mom bean that we haven't posted for awhile. We'll see if we can stay awake long enough to put mom bean on notice a little more often.

The mom bean has been doing some more yarn stuff for the sticky bean.

She needed a handsome model for a photo shoot.  Of course I was a willing participant....not.

But the color does look good with my eyes, don'tcha think?

Survivor, sticky bean style

 

Hi efurrybody, Saku here.  You'll be happy to know that we survived another visit from the sticky bean.  Sasha spent most of his time on the couch and suffered a number of intrusions, mostly gentle.

Me, I stayed out in the sunny room until the mom bean made me come indoors.  The rest of the time, I hid out under her chair (and mine).  From that place I was able to teach that sticky bean a lesson or two.  

He likes to watch Y-tube videos on the mom bean's puter and sits on her lap or in the chair.  Sometimes when he was hopping up or down I'd take a swipe at those feet just to give him a good scare.*  

I wonder why he calls me the mean kitty?  MOL!

*no three year olds were harmed in the making of this post.

Baby, it's hot out there!

Hi efurrybody, Saku here!

Sasha and I love our sunny room, but the mom bean says it is too hot out there sometimes.  So look what she went and did.

She put up new cloths on the windows to keep the sun out! Let me tell you, we wasn't furry happy with this.  Too bad Sheldon isn't around, he'd climb these things and put some extra holes in them.  

But you know, it's not all bad.  She does open some of these some times so we do get some sun shine.  One of the cloths is in front of my cat tree and she always opens that one in the morning so I can watch for the burds in the trees.

And even though there is no sun puddles to sleep in, my new bed is furry comfy!

I guess I'll forgive her.
