A new sisfur???

Hi efurrybody, long time no see.

Things have changed a bunch since my last post, just in the last elebenty seven hundred naps. My bean brofur takes care of me most of the time, and the mom bean comes and stays with me sometimes too. It's going good as he feeds me the wet food efurryday like she does, gives me brushes, and keeps my litter clean but don't tell the mom bean. I've figured out she feels guilty and I get extra loves and treats when she is here.

In fact, she was here for awhile, then left for a bit, and when she came back....SURPRISE!!!

My bean brofur brought home this D O G. Her name is Sage and she's still mostly a puppy. When she first got here, I hung out in the basement and thought an elephant had moved in upstairs. She's a noisy thing chasing her toys, though she doesn't bark much.

Then I got a chance to meet her this weekend and guess what? She's scared of me! It only took a hiss or two and I put her in her place, MOL. I also drank out of her water bowl and checked out her bed and her toys.

For now, we're staying apart but the bean brofur has promised to crate train her...whatever that means, and then I'll have the run of my house again. No way, no how am I gonna let that thing take over my house.

Mom bean says she's a good D O G, but I'm still the best cat. Of course, I am!

Just Chillin'

Hi efurrybody, Saku here.  Mom bean is sticking around and I'm having a great time. I's waking her up in the o'dark early, begging for treats and loves, and then ignoring her when she is up and moving. Gotta keep the beans on their toes!

She brought some photos of my cuzins, Stanley and Spencer to show me. I'm not all that impressed. Apparently, they both love to lounge on her bed. Well so do I!  You be the judge...who does it best?

Stanley
Spencer
Me!

Don't blame me that mom bean didn't make her bed!

She's back!

The mom bean came back a couple of days ago, and I have been spending as much time as I can with her. She especially appawciates when I wake her up in the middle of the night (several times) to remind her I'm happy to see her.

I've been doing my part, too, to make sure she doesn't sleep in. The bean brofur leaves for work at about 6:15 a.m. so I expect to be fed at that time. Today, it was 5:34....I'm a cat and I can't read a clock.

She's been spending time with two other kitties, Stanley and Spencer. I'm sure I'd hate them. She says they are nice kitties but neither of them are lap cats like me. We've had a talk and I told her she can share their stories too.

Meanwhile things are good with me - I'm eating well, and the output is what it is. The beans have to clean it up, MOL!

Time for my fourteenth nap of the day.  See you all later!

Pee Ess: she brought me a present too. It's a little lamb that has catnip. I won't let her take a picture of me playing with it.

I got a present

Actually, I got two presents.  First is this pawsome water fountain.

The mom bean says she got it for me, because I pester her for drinks from the tap, or a glass. She figured this might make me happy. It did!

Mom bean didn't get a picture of the other, a new scratching post. Of course, I'm ignoring that and continuing to use the old beat up one. :)

Sharing the mom bean

Hi efurrybody, Saku here. Sorry, I haven't been here for a long time. The mom bean has been away from me, but I'm okay 'cuz I'm living with my bean brofur. He's furry good to me, he keeps my water and kibble dishes full, feeds me the yummy wet food twice a day, and cleans my litter boxes. We have our routine too before he goes to work, with some scritches and he turns on the radio for me so I have company too while he's away. There's more scritches and pats and some toy time when he gets home. AND of course, dinner!

Mom bean got back from staying with my kitty cuzzins and the sticky bean just over a week ago. She was planning to stay with me until the end of June, but has to go back there for a few days later this week. She promises to come back again she gets some important stuff done.

I've been enjoying lots of lap time. When she's doing stuff, I help. Here I am keeping an eye on her - she had just finished putting away her clean laundry.

I also make sure she wakes up every morning.  Usually between 5 and 6 a.m. She's got lots to do here so she needs to be up early. Plus I want my breakfast.

When she isn't here she is hanging out with Stanley and Spencer. This is Stanley...he likes her bed.

She says he doesn't sleep with her either. His place is with the sticky bean.

This is cuzzin Spencer. She has slept on the mom bean's bed once, and hides under it sometimes.

I kind of miss the old girl when she is away, but I know she's in good paws with Stanley and Spencer. Except she says they don't wake her up in the morning! I don't have to worry though, the bean sisfur wakes her up most mornings.

Time for my afternoon nap. Happy Caturday efurryone!

For those who aren't aware, I am splitting my time between the home of my son, and that of my daughter and grandson. I do miss Saku when I'm with Stanley and Spencer. They are great cats, but not lap cats as he is. However, due to his temperament I cannot take him with me - he and Stanley would not tolerate one another and I'm not sure how Spencer would react to a strange cat. He and my son enjoy each other's company. C spoils him, perhaps not as much as I do, but I know that Saku is healthy and well taken care of when I am not in the city.

About time!

Hi efurrbody,

Mom bean has been slacking big time. She even disappeared for a whole lot of naps. I kept the bean brofur in line while she was gone. He even slept on the couch sometimes because I yelled when he wouldn't let me in his room. Something about furs and scratching - not my problem.

Anyway, she finally came back and I was pretended to be happy to see her. There has been a whole lot of lap sitting and scritches and treats. I think she feels bad she left me behind.

I'm not as forgiving, so I've been giving her the stink-eye and sometimes even a bite or two. She has to learn, again, that I am the boss.

Right?

Farewell sweet Sheldon

The mom here today, or more rightly, the old mom bean as Sheldon would have said.

Sheldon is my daughter's middle cat (Stanley and Spencer are the other two). He was born in mid-March 2017, just a few weeks after our sticky bean, Eli was born. Sheldon came to live with us in mid-2017 and stayed until D and Eli moved about 15 months later.

When he arrived, he was a wee kitten. The other three cats had quite different reactions to him. Saku was initially afraid of him, Sami hated him, and Sasha, as he had with the other kittens who arrived, patiently put up with him. In time, both Saku and Sami tolerated and would even play with him, but Sheldon always adored Sasha the most.

This is one of my favorite photos of the two boys. It's almost as though Sheldon was saying, "I'm the baby, gotta love me."

There were several good tussles between Saku and Sheldon, and sweet moments too, when the pair slept on the couch together...even touching!

Sheldon loved to crawl under the covers on the bed for a nap. I visited last week, and he slept under the covers beside me at least one of the nights.

When D and Eli moved, Sheldon went with them. He getting to be a big boy by then, and got even bigger still. The vet told her today that she believes Sheldon had some Maine Coon in him as he was a large cat, but not overweight.

Every morning, after breakfast he started his day with a tussle with his big brother Stanley. After D dropped Sheldon off at school, she'd come home and Sheldon would remind her it was time for a nap. The two would curl up on her bed for a hour.  When she showered, he'd wait in the bathroom for her.

But his favorite place to sleep during the day was on Eli's big boy bed. I took this photo just two weeks ago. I think I woke him.

Today, D messaged me to say Sheldon had thrown up last evening and several times through the night. She had isolated him and put in the bedroom with a bowl of water and a litter box, hoping he'd pass whatever was bothering him. But he deteriorated through the night and even more so this morning before she could get him into the vet. She sent a video and he was clearly in much discomfort and crying, though he did stick close to D and followed her down the stairs.

While the vet didn't do a thorough exam, she did check him out and agreed he was in distress. She thought there might have been a blockage or perhaps a mass that had shifted or increased in size. Not wanting to put Sheldon through more pain, they decided to let him go. D said his passing was peaceful, she was petting and talking to him and he was gone before she realized it.

Sheldon will be missed. He was, as D said, "the best boy".

It's been awhile

I told mom bean that it's about time she posted another picture of me.  She says this is my best side.

She thinks she's funny.
